I mentioned before that I used to love makeup, but I suddenly stopped using makeup unless there's an occasion or if I just feel like it. Now that I'm having my first ever maternity shoot, I want to look perfect without spending too much money on hair and makeup. I was contemplating whether I should hire a makeup artist or just do my makeup. For instance, If I will hire a makeup artist, it will cost me so much for just an hour or two photo sessions. However, if I do it for myself, I will just buy new makeup products, but I might not get the look that I want for myself. It's been a long time since I didn't do any major makeup touch-up with my face that's why I am very anxious about what to choose until I came up with a decision that I will just do it and hope that it will turn out amazing.
I did my research on what makeup to buy. I prefer local brands than those luxury brands because I'm on a tight budget and I don't always wear makeup. I'm planning to buy a new foundation, concealer, loose powder, eye palette, eyebrow pencil, and fake lashes. At first, I was captivated by the brand Merrez'ca. They have pocket sachet makeup sold in 7-11 stores and Lotus grocery mall. It is very affordable and their marketing ads for Merrez'Ca Dewy Skin Makeup Base SPF 50/PA+++ and Merrez'Ca Skin Up Liquid Foundation SPF 50/PA+++ are very enticing. But, after 3 days of trying both products, I ended up liking the Merrez'Ca Dewy Skin Makeup Base SPF 50/PA+++ more than the other, maybe because I bought the wrong skin shade of Merrez'Ca Skin Up Liquid Foundation. Anyways, let's get to my personal thoughts on the makeup products that I bought and actually work on me.
According to Merrezca's website, it is a 4 IN 1 foundation base that includes skincare like foundation, primer and sunscreen and it is in a portable sachet type. It has a smooth texture that blends easily. Helps to cover up flaws to be flawlessly smooth it also nourishes the face to firm and brighten. It cost 59 THB.
My Thoughts
It has a white color and a creamy texture, and when you apply it to your face, the white color adjusts to the new color of your skin. Did you get what I meant? LOL! I do have brown Asian skin color, so when I applied the Merrez'Ca DEWY SKIN MAKEUP BASE SPF 50/PA+++ to my skin, the white color changed to a brown beige color, the same as my skin color. This is such advanced technology, at least for me. I am having a hard time choosing the right foundation color for me. Sometimes I end up buying the wrong color and my face is so white. With Merrez'Ca Dewy Skin Makeup Base, I don't need to get worried if the color is not in the right shade. I used Merrez'Ca Dewy Skin Makeup Base as my primer base for my foundation. After applying the Merrez'Ca Dewy Skin Makeup Base, it smooths my skin and blurs a little bit the unwanted pimple marks on my face. It's not the best of the best primers, but it does the job for its price.
There is not much information on their website, but in their store, Srichan claims that their Srichan Skin Essential SPF 50+ PA++++ is a sun protection foundation product that combines nourishing value and gives you a smooth finish with an easy-to-blend texture. It's also free of oil, parabens, and fragrance, and it's alcohol-free. The price is 279 THB.
My Thoughts.
I bought the color 140 Honey, hoping that this would match my skin color, and yes it did! The packaging is a plastic tube pump, which makes it easier to control the amount of foundation to use. The texture is creamy and a little bit watery and doesn't have any smells. You know, that chemical odor in some cosmetic products. It is easy to spread on my skin since it's a little bit watery, and I love that it finishes with full coverage and smoothens my skin. My skin definitely loves the Srichan Skin Essential foundation because I don't see any cracks in my face once it sets and it really makes my skin dewy and fresh and the coverage is marvelous; it looks like I used a high-end makeup foundation.
Again, there's also no detailed information on their website, however, in their online store, it says it is a light concealer that combines nourishing value, providing good coverage for any marks. It's also free of oil, parabens, and fragrance, and it's alcohol-free. Price is 159 THB.
My Thoughts.
Srichan Skin Essential Concealer's packaging is in a glass tube with a doe-foot applicator. It also has a creamy and light consistency. There are different types of concealers and their purposes. I prefer concealers that are for brightening, so I opt for the slightly lighter concealer, which is the shade 120 Beige. Luckily, I picked the right shade because it's not too bright for my skin tone nor too dark. I love that it has good coverage, the same as its foundation, and no cracks at all. It's very easy to blend, and it really brightens my under eyes and around my nose and mouth. It also has a smooth finish and lasts a long time even when I'm sweating, the concealer stays beautifully and does not fade or crack at all.
On Meecosmetic website they mentioned that the Mee 8D Micro Slimbrow Pencil is a dusty eyebrow pencil with a slender head 1.5mm auto rotating with eyebrow brush in one stick the tip is slender every time it is used, so it is easy to decorate all kinds of eyebrows, there is a special formula so that it does not easily get damaged or broken, waterproof, sweatproof, lasts 24 hours a day. It cost 149 THB
My Thoughts.
I really don't know how to do my eyebrows. I also can't figure out if both eyebrows are straight, and align so I just wing it! It's my first time using a spoolie brow brush and I honestly don't know how to do it. Thanks to Youtube tutorials, now I'm addicted to using the spoolie that comes with the Mee 8D Micro Slimbrow Pencil. It's my first time trying the spoolie, so I have nothing to compare it with. However, I like that it makes my brow bushy and I chose the shade dark brown, since it's the perfect shade for my hair color, skin color, and eye color. The pencil is a thin stick and it will pop-out when you rotate the body of the eyebrow pencil. It has a nice pigmented and creamy stroke and it defines your eyebrow and makes it full and lush. It also lasts longer, which is fascinating.
On the packaging it says, oil-free, paraben-free, alcohol-free and fragrance-free. There is not much information on their website and it's written in Thai language and when I googled translate it doesn't make sense to me. The price is 159 THB.
My Thoughts.
Honestly speaking, it was an accident that I chose this powder. I'm supposed to buy a loose powder of the same brand. However, I didn't double-check the label and picked up the compact powder instead. But, I guess my mistake was a lucky choice after all, because I am so in love with this Srichand Translucent Compact Powder. First, it's translucent, so it will blend automatically with my skin tone; second, it locks in my concealer and foundation, leaving it smooth and fresh looking. I noticed that it gives me a nice coverage of perfect makeup that doesn't have cracks. The Srichand Translucent Compact Powder does the job very well. It is very light in the face as well and lasts a long time. Even if I'm sweating, it doesn't fade or crack. I am overly satisfied with the brand Srichand. They really make good cosmetic products like high-end products at an affordable price.
- Cute Press Eye and Cheek Press Eye
For my eye palette and check blush-on, I used the Cute Press Eye and Cheek Press Eye. I already made a review with this you may check out My Everyday Makeup with Cutepress Thailand or click HERE.
According to their website, they claim that it adds charm to the eyes, sharp lines, big eyes, sleek look. Easy to write, very good for beginners, dry quickly doesn't have to wait for a long time, waterproof, sweatproof, no greasy problems.
My Thoughts.
I've been using 4U2 Liquid Liner for a long time now and I still love it. It has pointed brush bristles, which is why it gives you those sleek, sharp lines. It truly does dry quickly, and it saves me from accidental smudging.
- Loreal Paris Color Riche Matte
My Thoughts
I can't find the exact website of their collection Color Riche Matte, but let me share with you my personal thoughts about this lipstick. I don't own a lot of lipstick. I just have a few of them for everyday use and for special occasions. Normally I don't wear lipstick because I don't like that it transfers to my face mask and it grosses me out. Anyways, I bought the shade 233 Rouge-a-porter, and even though it is matte, it is still moisturizing on the lips. It is very pigmented and very hydrating.
And that's all loves the beauty products that actually work on me. Of all the makeup brands that I currently use, my favorite is the brand Srichand. They are so affordable but the quality is very good. It feels like you bought luxury makeup brands and it really surpasses my expectations and works really well on my skin.
